Go FIgure... GoFundMe!
So my DJ bag came up missing one morning. I was on a load-in for the monthly Mister Sunday party at Shea Stadium in BK and left my bag unattended in the front seat of a truck. Yeah my fault, I know but what hurts more than losing the Macbook Pro, my Dell Latitude, my Sprint Hotspot and my USB 3.0 HDMI capture card is losing all of my hard drives. I brought them with me to get a little organizing done. I was organizing and editing 7 months of church footage for a television show. I was sorting through 200 Gb of reclaimed music (since the last hard drive catastrophe) and so on and so on. I had just gotten my Macbook back from repair also. I was using it for corporate Livestream gigs. Things were going sweet then one lapse in judgement and I'm back to square one.
SO... I decided to start up a GoFundMe campaign. Take some time and take a look. It is simply a campaign to replace what I've lost. But more than that it is a campaign to continue building a business and a a brand that I believe in. To provide event services such as DJ'ing, Audio and Visual Support as well as Webcasting and Livestreaming. If you can, join me on this journey with a donation of any amount. Today I got the opportunity to meet Klassic and Havoc, two of Brooklyn's finest Flex dancers featured in the documentary short "Flex Is Kings"; a film about Flex dancings evolution from its Carribean roots in East New York Brooklyn. Summer's over... Fall is Here!
As we approach the Fall solstice, we say goodbye to the dog days of summer but that doesn't mean that the fun is over. As some of you know, I was holding it down at Otto's on Fifth Avenue up until the end of the summer. It was a lot of fun but all good things come to an end. Special shout out to Mike Brown and the crew over there for letting me play my eclectic style of Funk, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, Jazz and Latin.
During that time, I joined the LifeLineHD.com crew broadcasting on Thursday Nights from 10pm EST to Midnite. That is still going on and has become a more progressive work. This past week's show was done from Bryant Park and I'll be finding even fresher locations around the city to do the same so make sure you tune in every Thursday night either on the website or the TuneIn app. Just look for LifeLine Radio. Folk. Over the years she has developed her own unique style, calling
it, "Acoustic Gospel Soul." She composes all of her own music and coming
from a poetry background her lyrics are deeply moving and thought
provoking. Raquel currently resides in Harlem, NY and is now in the
process of recording her debut EP. The project is scheduled to be
released Fall of 2015.
